Motorcity Adds New Capabilities and Integration Services

Company expands menu of software and integration solutions for large TMS platforms

Motorcity Systems (MCS), a software and integration solutions provider for trucking companies, announces new integration capabilities and services for the IBM i and AS/400-based transportation management software (TMS) platforms.

The new integration solutions from MCS will enable carriers using IBM i and AS/400-based TMS platforms (including Innovative or “ICC”) to connect and modernize their operations with applications from MCS and third parties that meet their evolving business needs.

As part of adding the new services, MCS completed a transaction with Group 33, an IT consulting firm that specializes in IBM i and AS/400 operating systems as well as supporting customers that use the Innovative TMS. MCS will assume all current services and support of Group 33’s transportation customers and exclusively retain the services of Scott Andrews, the principal and owner of Group 33 with over 40 years of experience in the transportation industry, as an advisor and consultant.

MCS also announces that Phillip Knox has joined the MCS team. Knox has more than 30 years of experience in the industry with the Innovative TMS, IBM i and AS/400 platforms, among other fleet management technologies. Knox worked at Innovative Computing Corporation (ICC) before it was acquired by Trimble in 2010 and had a consulting practice. He most recently worked at Fort Worth, Texas-based truckload carrier Lone Star Transportation for 13 years as Senior System Analyst.

“MCS is well-equipped to serve customers using the IBM i and AS/400 operating systems as we continue to broaden our ability to provide technology partners with robust integration capabilities across multiple TMS platforms,” said Kenneth Van Heel, Chief Executive of MCS.

“Adding the new capabilities, services and expertise is part of our strategy and vision to help customers improve their operations with better data and systems integration,” added Bob Stemple, Co-Founder and President of MCS. “We couple the systems knowledge and integration services with our products to provide our customers with unique, flexible and scalable technology solutions”.

The addition of Knox further expands the capabilities of the TMS integration team at Motorcity, which includes former TMW.Suite Director of Research and Development Mark Fielder, who joined Motorcity in 2021.
